LANGUAGE LEARNING
The Community Language Learning is the method which
are use by the teachers to consider their students as ‘whole persons’. Whole
persons mean that teachers consider not only their students intellect, but also
have some understanding of the relationship among students feelings, physical
reactions, instinctive protective reactions, and desire to learn.
A. Principles
of community language learning
1. The
goals of the teacher
The teachers who use this method want their students to learn how to use
the target language communicatively.
2. The
role of the teacher and to student
The teacher’s initial
role is that of counselor, so he skillfully understand and supports his students
in their struggle to master the target language.
3. The
characteristics of the teaching or learning process
The teacher helps the
students express what they want to say by giving them the target language
translation in chunks.
4. The
nature of student-teacher interaction
The nature of
student-teacher interaction the community language learning method changes
within the lesson and over time.
5. The
feelings of the students dealt
Responding to the student
feelings is considered very important in counseling-learning.
6. The
area s of language are emphasized
The most important
skills understand and speaking the language, reading and writing are also
worked on, however, based upon what the students have already understood.
B. Conclusion
The
two most basic principles which underline the kinds of learning that can take
place in the community language learning method are summed up in the following
phrases;
1. Learning
is person,which means that both teacher and learners must take a commitment of
trust to one another and the learning process.
2. Learning
is dynamic and creative, which means that learning is a living and
developmental process.
